Hypnotherapy Project. In April 2004 Rob Williams, Advanced Hypnotherapist commenced a hypnotherapy pilot project at YAAS. The service has subsequently been extremely successful and the results have been picked up by the local, regional and national press, BBC Radio York, and BBC ‘Look North’.: www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/health?articleid=2709823 All eyes on hypnosis treatment

'Look North' recorded a special report on Rob’s work in December 2006. Check out the videos on the right hand side of the following page 'Hypno help to beat the bottle': http://search.bbc.co.uk/cgi-bin/search/results.pl?scope=all&edition=d&q=hypnotherapy Alcohol Concern nationally have commented that this project is ‘breaking new ground in alcohol treatment’ and that ‘the feedback has been ‘overwhelmingly positive’. As far as is known this is the only hypnotherapy service in the country attached to an alcohol service (as reported by the BBC). Hypnosis is a natural state of awareness. Hypnotherapy works with the sub-conscious mind, the seat of all our emotions and behaviours. Via hypnosis Rob helps the client find the root cause of their drinking and to work through the issues. Drink is invariably the symptom, the cause is often a way of coping or trying to blank out certain thoughts such as depression, panic, lack of confidence, guilt, anger etc. We are not born with these feelings and so the hypnotherapy works with why and when the feelings first started. As hypnotherapy can help change behavioural response on a subconscious level, clients can be freed from long-lasting burdens. Funding has so far been obtained by York City Council, Truemark Trust and by several ex-client donations. If you would like more information about Rob please refer to: |
